DiЯts humanitarian project for palestine

Let me tell you about 1948 - The first war (not on) but for, palestine

Palestine was described to me as a place where my Grandpas family owned an olive tree farm. Where the fields were always green. Where we had farm animals and a beautiful brick house that was three stories tall built by the generations before my grandparents.

Palestine was a imaginary place to me. I knew of Jordan where I visited my cousins and my entire family but Palestine was non-existent in my world. The reason for this is because in 1948, the first Nakba (the first war to occupy Palestine) happened and it effected dozens of villages and caused over 700,000 Palestinians to either leave their country or die fighting for it. This war wiped out generations of Palestinians and chased people out of their homes, creating a large list of gypsies including the most raddest one of them all, my grandma.

I began to work on a documentary with my journalist friend, where we met so many, who simply want peace. It opened my eyes regarding the conflict, and I wanted nothing more but to learn all I can, to be able to produce a honest film. I wanted to learn about Palestine, the history, the conflicts with Israel, and I wanted to see what solutions there actually was.

The project for Palestine,

Consists of a two month program volunteering in Palestine with two non- Profit groups.

Skatepal:

-september 16TH-october 31ST-

SkatePal is a non-profit organization that works with communities throughout Palestine to enhance the lives of young people and promote the benefits of skateboarding.

Since 2013, our ongoing presence and award-winning projects have reached hundreds of young people across the West Bank and won acclaim and recognition from supporters around the world.

We are run by a committed team of local and international volunteers who, through teaching skate classes, building skateparks and providing equipment, are enabling an ever-growing number of Palestinian skaters to empower themselves and inspire the next generation of Palestinian youth.
