London Day 1
In the morning (4am) Gabby and Krista couldn't sleep, so they decided to go to get breakfast. I took a good hour after they left trying to figure out how to get service on my phone, it turns out, (which any of you T-Mobile folks should have too) that I had free service and data in 140 countries and all I had to do was shut my phone on and off. I showered, got dressed and by 6am I went to the corner store and got a oyster card (Whats cool about these cards is they work like BART passes, reloadable), but when its time to leave London, I can return my card and get my 5 pounds back. Highly recommend just riding the Tube or buses out here instead of Uber. I walked up to bus 52 right outside my our apartment and went to a area called Notting Hill.
Notting hill was beautiful and so was the street I went to called Portabello rd. It was full of colors, similar to the homes in San Francisco, and it was loaded with cafés, boutiques and street art of all kinds. Everything was pretty much closed except some cafés. So Bradley, a long time friend of mine, recommended me to go to his friend owned café called Fabrique. The coffee and sandwich I got were so good, but I couldn't help but getting their ice tea as well. The packaging they had for the tea were really funny to me, it reads:
1.) Dear T,
Its not me, its you. As you know I am a wonderful person, so this just doesn't feel right. Please send me my belongings and my mango and citrus ice tea.
The other one said something in the lines of:
2.) Its ok, you can keep the apartment, I have my ___ flavored ice tea.
I stayed at the coffee shop til stores began to open around 9. I went a few stores down to this tiny cute toy shop. The older lady there was selling the best postcards. My goal was to send out a postcard to 3 friends in three different states, but after finding out how much postal was, I decided to send just one. I continued to walk and take photographs of the people and art of the road. I winded up and a hair solon where a I thought to get my bangs recut. The kind man there did it for free for me and even taught me how to style it.
Later, Bradley recommended me to go to a magazine & book store right next to the underground station. I didn't spend much time there due to knowing ill end up buying books and my bag is already to heavy for that, so I just took some photographs
Shortly after, I took the tube to Hackney to visit Bradley's coffee shop called Bonds. Bonds is a great coffee shop, but I plan on making it its own post. He had a meeting with someone at 12pm, so I left all my things I wondered around the are and found a pub called "Pub by the Park" which was literally a bar right by this really nice park. It was huge and had pretty lights everywhere. I walked in and the place was completely empty except the bartender and the cooks. The bartender had me try about 6 beers and a cider which he wasn't a fan of but I actually really liked it. I chatted with the first bartender for a while, he is originally from Scotland but moved to london about 7 years ago. Another bartender came in, but I wanted to make a post on him and his band as well once I have a chance to look them up a little more.
After saying by to Bradley, I headed over to Covet garden to meet Krista and Gabby up. it was a pretty nice area, but the best part were all the fashionable people there who allowed me to take there portraits. they also hadReally good fish and chips that I ate a few bites from Gabby. Before that tho, I wondered in some bakery shop to use the bathroom, I forgot the bakery name but it had some nice people there. The guy gave me a sandwich and said if I don't like it, he will give me a free dinner. they are famous for there panninis.
After walking around all over, we ended up in Chinatown. We went to this Fusion Asian place to get some boba and some coconut soup. I met a nice gal named Cinderella there who shots photos, is a singer and songwriter and does a few things as well. You could tell her aura was glowing. Also we both had princess names which I thought was really cool. I wish I took a photo of her I didn't think to at the time. We ended up getting kicked out cause gabby and I didn't order anything.
We went to a coffee shop to rest our feet. There were two guys next to us who had a staring problem. So I greeted them with a hello. One of the fellows was Marco and the other we didn't speak to much since he was only on break from the cafe. Marco wouldn't leave us alone, but to be honest I didn't mind talking to him I just wish his name wasn't Marco, due to the night before when we got to London we watched taken and the guy that starts talking to the girls in the movie was named Marco. He was cool tho. He's from Rome but isn't to hyped about London.
Not much happened after that, we headed hoe, slept and woke up. they had ordered McDonalds through uber eats but there order got messed up, so I ended up getting a burger woop.
Tomorrow is the last full day in London, next stop is Amsterdam!
