London Day 2
More People and Spots of London
Due to jet lag (jk we just like to sleep a lot) we all woke up at 12pm and Gabby and Krista headed out to the museums while I caught the train to meet up a friend. I noticed on the trains that they leave the newspapers left behind on the seat folded nicely and place right back on top of the seat for the next rider to read at there pleasure.
I met up with long time friend Eloise for a short video on her I am doing and an article for Lowcard. (You should check those out when there done and check her website and work below in the photos). She toured me around an area called Shoreditch where you can get a bagel and cream cheese for like 2 pounds, where as back home there usually between 7-10 dollars. Brick Lane which is part of Shoreditch was my favorite place in London by far. It runs from Swanfield in the northern part of Bethnal Green. The place was really cool and I wish I had more time there. While Eloise and I were waiting for a ride outside of her studio, two guys were approached us and had asked for there photo taken. I took a polaroid which I will post later and a few photos with my other camera where you will find below.
I later met up with a friend for a drink and got food at a place called Rosa, where I had curry and rice and some ginger flavored drink all for the first time. I made three new friends who I had shared a table with. I found a place called barber and parlour where you can go to a barbershop in one spot, bar in one spot store in one spot, movie theatre downstairs, and hair and nail salon o the top floor. Then headed back to Victoria Station. After getting of the station my phone died. I figured I would know how to get there from the station to the hotel, but I did not and was lost for idk how long. I had asked 8 people how to get home:
1.) An Older couple walking behind me ~ They ended up also unfamiliar with the area, but did direct me to ask the corner store guy ~
2.) The Corner store Guy ~ Said to turn left, then left, then right then right again on Francis st and it should be right there next to the Little Ben ~
3.) A girl walking out of her apartment ~ No idea, looked it up on her phone. Both looked at her phone for a hot second, got nothing from it, and thanked her and walked away ~
4.) Three ladies outside smoking in front of a hotel ~ Looked it up on there phone, pointed me to the direction. Bunch of lefts i think, and then thanked them and left ~
5.) The only person in sight (random old guy) ~ no clue and no phone but pointed at a pub and said the guys in there will know ~
6.) Guy at the pub ~ looked it up on his phone, walked me out side, and pointed to the exact direction to go to ~
7.) A random girl on her phone ~ Looked it up, said theres a billion of them, so its best to ask the guy in the front desk of the hotel she is staying in ~
8.) Guy at the front desk the girl on her phone said to ask~ Asked me 1000 questions and showed me a bunch of hotels called Victoria Station Hotel, ended up finding it and pointed to the direction I should exactly go. I had him write it down just in case ~
Finally as I was walking hoping that was the last person to ask, I ended up in the exact same street where I have seen the only old guy in the street. The guy at the pub who I had asked before was just getting of work and came out of his way to walk me to the exact place of the hotel which was extremely above and beyond nice idk what other adjective to use other than nice but hey there really aren't that many nice people in this world they must have winded up all in London or somethin because all day in Amsterdam today I have been saying how mean the people are here because they hate tourists so much. I live in downtown San Francisco too ya kno and I see and work with tourists too everyday ya knooooo but im not a jerk~
